"The puppies are all doing well. Gaining weight rapidly at an average of 12% of their birth weight each day, so far. Jess isn't allowed to be with the puppies unsupervised - as she is so big and they are so little. The pups are kept in a secure crate, which has an area warmed by a heat lamp and plenty of cool space too. Andy and I are on hand to supervise feeding every two hours. Sounds exhausting getting up through the night, and it is, but as difficult as it is to drag yourself from the warmth of bed, it is so amazing watching Jess with her pups, that we really don't mind at all. Jess has been amazing, when we first took the pups from her between feeds she cried and worried, but within 20 hours she has come to trust us and understands that we allow her to have the puppies every couple of hours. The rest of the time she sleeps on her bed by their crate - jumping into her whelping box to feed them as soon as Andy or I appear!"
