An Easter visit to see Rufus

Over the Easter weekend we loaded the land rover with the dogs and went across to Lancashire to see how Rufus was getting on. My, how amazed we were to see how much he had grown and what a stunning looking dog he was growing into!

When we first arrived, I was really taken aback to see Rufus. I was expecting to see another carbon copy of Nemo - just as when we saw Lily and when we recently saw Elwood. But no, Rufus is different. He is even more good looking than Nemo - I hate to admit it, but he is, and he has the most amazing coat. He is totally, totally gorgeous. And even better, I think he remembered me!! What a wonderful feeling that is to be showered with affection from a Newfie pup that I hadn't seen for so long.

Nemo and Rufus definitley remembered one another and they really enjoyed playing together in the field above Paul and Jane's house (oh yeah, they are Rufus' owners - I forget to mention them in all my excitement about their gorgeous pup, oops)

Here he is the man himself, the extremely gorgeous Rufus
(Dianne if you are reading this I am interested to hear what you think of him)

Our three desperately trying to get in Jane and Paul's house!!

You cannot really see the dogs, but you can see what a fantastic spot Rufus lives in!

I cannot say with confidence but I think this is Nemo.......

Keegan, Molly, Jess, Nemo and Rufus - exhausted after an exciting day!

I couldn't resist trying to get a big Newfie kiss from Rufus before I left!

Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Cullercoats!

Last Sunday we were invited by our friend Dianne Barrass of Priorscove Newfoundlands to join her on a Newfie meet! Dianne has now bred a few litters and regularly meets up with some of her owners and their dogs for a walk on the beach. We were really happy to be invited along to meet all the Priorscove family and also as it gave us an opportunity to catch up with Ian, Cath and Elwood who had also been invited along as they live very close to Dianne.

It was a very exciting day for the latest addition to Dianne's Newfie family - Lily, Dianne's beautiful brown bitch that she has kept from her latest litter. My handbag just wasn't big enough to fit her in..........

Here are some photgraphs from the day. You can see what stunning dogs Dianne has bred - each and everyone one of them was a show stopper - but I have to say, Jess was the best swimmer ha ha!
The big dogs enjoy themselves in the sea

Nemo has a sniff of one of the big guys...... but as you can see from the next few shots, he far preferred playing with Elwood. I would have to say that they remembered each other, they just got straight down to the scrapping again!

Mum took them both for a paddle

Time for a rest - the last shot is of Elwood

Nemo slept all the way home x

Thanks again for the invite Dianne and Happy Birthday xx
